Satin with its shiny and glamorous surface is one of the most fascinating materials that is mainly used for clothing, accessories and home textiles. A Novelty are Lamp Shades of Silk, that cover our robust and elegant lamp frames from arabia and southeastasia and transforms then into amazing loth objects.

The satin material that has been used for our Satinlights is entirely made of precious silk and no polyester or other synthetic fibbers are used. Satin is one of the oldest Fabrics of human kind and has been dated back to 3000BC when it already has been produced in china. Later the valuable silkworms have been smuggled over to europe. Today Silk is still very expensive and filigree and is hardly used for mass production.
